Some Web Sites may need different policies for different areas of the site (public areas and member areas for example).
These policies are referred to as 'zones'. These zones combined will make up your complete privacy policy.
For Example: A visitor arrives at your Web Site and you record basic information about the visitor (IP address, viewed pages etc). This would require a policy zone explaining what information you record, why it is being recorded and who has access to the information. If the visitor is then required to supply additional information (such as name, address or email address), for another part of your site (such as a newsletter, online shopping etc) another policy zone is required to explain what information is being recorded, why the information is recorded and who will have access to this additional information. |
